Artists and illustrators are being sought by the Rotherham Hospital and
Community Charity to enhance the Special Care Baby Unit for families and
their new-borns.

The unit has recently been repainted leaving the ward’s four rooms,
family rooms, central corridor and entrance a blank canvas for artists
to leave their mark.

Alison Cowie, matron for children’s acute and complex care, said: “We
know that it can be a very anxious time for parents whose babies are
being cared for on our Special Care Baby Unit.

“We want our youngest and most vulnerable patients to have the best
possible start in life and we work incredibly hard to care not just for
the new-borns but their parents and siblings too by providing a calming
environment.

The deadline for all submissions is 5pm on October 26. A shortlist will
then be selected by the charity and colleagues on the Special Care Baby
Unit with successful candidates invited to visit the ward in early
November.

For a copy of the brief and an application template contact Suzanne
