A 26-year-old man has been jailed for three years after being stopped in
Sheffield with wraps of Class A drugs in his boxer shorts.

Yunus Sine, of Verdon Street, Sheffield, appeared before Sheffield Crown
Court on Monday 3 September where he was jailed for three years. He pleaded
guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, namely crack
cocaine and heroin.

On 10 November 2017, officers from Sheffield’s Tasking Team stopped and
arrested Sine in the Spital Hill area of Sheffield.

The arrest formed part of Operation Citadel, the ongoing operation in
Sheffield to tackle drug related criminality in the Burngreave and Pitsmoor
areas of the city. Sine had been identified as being involved in possible
Class A drugs supply.

When officers brought Sine into custody, he was searched and they recovered
35 packages of crack cocaine and 10 wraps of heroin, hidden in his boxer
shorts.

The street value for the crack cocaine was around £700 and the heroin was
worth around £100.

Sergeant Craig Charlesworth from the Tasking Team said: “This is another
successful result for Operation Citadel.

“Drugs and drug related crime can devastate communities and those involved
in this type of crime pose a real threat to the safety of the public.

“I am pleased Sine pleaded guilty and is now behind bars for his crime.”
