A 79-year-old woman who was injured in a collision in the Woodhouse area
earlier this week has sadly died in hospital.
At around 8.05am on Monday 1 October, emergency services were called to
Sheffield Road, following a collision between a silver Toyota Aygo and
the woman, who was crossing the road at the time.
The collision happened outside of the Woodhouse Health Centre, close to
the junction with Tannery Street.
The woman was taken to hospital where she remained in a critical
condition but passed away last night (Wednesday 3 October). Her family
are being supported by specialist officers.
Police remain keen to hear from witnesses, particularly those who were
at the scene of the collision but left before police attended. Officers
also want to speak to a man who was driving a blue Renault Scenic people
carrier who stopped at the scene to assist with traffic control and also
said he had a dashcam.
If you were the man in the Renault, or anyone at the scene, who hasn’t
yet spoken to officers, please call 101 quoting incident 135 of 1
October 2018.
