Unions are calling for more money for mental health services after it
emerged NHS trusts across Yorkshire have lost hundreds of specialist
staff over the past five years.

The number of doctors and nurses working specifically on mental health
has fallen, despite 19,000 more people seeking help since 2013.

Bill Adams, from the Trades Union Congress in Yorkshire, says the health
service is currently unable to cope with the scale of the problem:

The government says it’s aware of the pressures facing the NHS and has
supported it with extra funding.
