Witnesses to an incident in which a 44-year-old woman was assaulted by a
group of teenagers are urged to come forward.
At around 11.30pm on Friday evening (15 March), it is reported that a
group of around 10 boys and girls, thought to be in their teens,
approached the woman on the driveway of her home in Weston Road.
It is said that the group became verbally abusive towards the woman
before assaulting her leaving with injuries to her head and face which
required hospital treatment.
Sergeant Liam Walters, from the local neighbourhood team, said: “From
speaking to the victim, carrying out house-to-house enquiries and
obtaining CCTV footage, we know there were a group of people involved,
with one girl leading the group in particular.
“I’d urge those involved to come forward and speak to police, along with
anyone who saw what happened or who knows who was involved.”
