Two men fatally injured in Barnsley collision

Two men have died following a collision in Barnsley yesterday evening
(Friday 1 March).

Emergency services were called at around 6.15pm following reports of a
two-vehicle collision in Whams Road, Barnsley, near to the Pipe Works.

It is reported that a black BMW Z3 and a black Mitsubishi Outlander were
involved in a collision, near to Fox Holes Grove.

Two men travelling in the BMW, aged 57 and 23-years-old, suffered fatal
injuries and were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 39-year-old woman driving the Mitsubishi suffered minor injuries and
was taken to hospital.

The families of the men have been notified and are receiving support.

The road was closed to allow investigators to carry out initial
enquiries, but it has since been reopened.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to make
contact.
