Two men are due in court today charged in connection to incidents in
Sheffield earlier this week, where two victims were injured with a knife.
At around 1am on Tuesday 11 September, emergency services were called to
Corporation nightclub on Milton Street, following a report that an
18-year-old man had been stabbed while inside the venue.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he currently remains in a
stable condition.
Cornell Hirst-Johnson, 21, of Horner Close, Sheffield, will appear before
Sheffield Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday 13 September), remanded and
charged with wounding with intent and threatening a person with an offensive
weapon, in connection to the incident.
At around 7.20am yesterday morning (Wednesday 12 September), police received
a call from a taxi driver on Spital Hill, Burngreave, reporting being the
victim of a robbery.
Later that morning, just after 8.40am, police received a call from a
38-year-old man on Gower Street, reporting that he had been stabbed. He was
taken to hospital to be treated for a slash wound to his chest and has since
been released.
Awill Ahmed, 24, of Sicey Avenue, Sheffield has since been charged and
remanded in connection to both incidents. He will appear before Sheffield
Magistrate’s Court this morning, charged with robbery, wounding with intent
and possession of an offensive weapon.
The two incidents are not linked.
