This summer two historical displays will rock Clifton Park Museum.
Visitors to the Museum can have a great day out enjoying the new Rotherham Rocks and Prehistoric Habitats displays.
The “Rotherham Rocks” display explores the rocks and minerals found in Britain. Find out more about the rocks beneath our feet in Rotherham, discover the meaning of birthstones, or just admire the beauty of our gems and minerals.
The “Prehistoric Habitats” display features various exhibits from Rotherham’s early history. Discover the animals that inhabited the local area in the different periods of the Stone Age, from snowy owls, which lived in Rotherham when it was an arctic wilderness 12,000 years ago, to the red foxes found around our towns and villages.
Cllr Taiba Yasseen, Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Working and Cultural Services, said: “The new summer displays at Clifton Park Museum have lots of interesting exhibits from sparkling gems and precious rocks to wonderful prehistoric wildlife.
“The display items will capture the imagination of young and old alike and provides a perfect family day out. We encourage visitors to come along to the Museum and find out more about our historic past.”
Clifton Park Museum has something for everyone and entry to see the displays is free.
