Man seriously injured in Thurnscoe dies in hospital

UPDATE

A 46-year-old man who was found with serious injuries in the Thurnscoe
area of Barnsley sadly died in hospital yesterday (Sunday 5 April).

Paramedics were called at around 4.40pm on Thursday 2 April to a
property in Monsal Street, where they then called police after
discovering a 46-year-old man with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he remained in critical condition until
he sadly died yesterday afternoon. His family has been notified and are
receiving support from specially trained officers.

Detectives are now treating their inquiry as a murder investigation and
continue to appeal for information about the circumstances surrounding
how the man came to be injured.

Two men, aged 31 and 41-years-old, have been arrested on suspicion of
assault. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
