Adult Skills and Community Learning service are hosting an open day for
new learners on Wednesday 10 April. Everyone is welcome to come along to
Wellington House from 10 am till 7 pm.
The day will provide the chance to meet tutors and ask questions about
the courses on offer. A wide range of courses is available, including
English, maths, IT, creative skills, and professional courses. There
will be an opportunity to enrol to courses on the day. Career and job
search experts will be on hand to help advise students on career routes
and make course suggestions.
Information will also be available on support while you study, such as
financial assistance for childcare or travel costs. Course discounts are
available in some cases, so make sure to bring proof of benefits or low
income to help speed up enrolment.
David Shepherd, Service Director of Regeneration and Property, said:
“We’d like to encourage anyone interested in learning new skills to come
along to the open day for an informal chat. You’re sure to find a course
that will suit you.
“Adult Skills and Community Learning are doing a great job of helping
people achieve their potential. They’ve recently received a rating of
‘Good’ from Ofsted, which is brilliant news for the service. The courses
on offer can help you achieve your goals, build your career and improve
your wellbeing.”
The open day will take place at Wellington House, Floor 2, above the
library on Market Street.
