A date in court awaits the driver who fled this scene – and her injured
passenger – after a crash in Eastwood.
Police were called to Fitzwilliam Road at 1.30am on Saturday after a
collision between a Corsa and Astra.
A spokesman said: “The female driver of the Corsa didn’t want to wait
for us to arrive, so left the scene leaving her passenger with leg and
pelvis injuries at the roadside.
“The Astra driver suffered minor injuries.
“Due to the state of the vehicles, we were very concerned for the driver
so family members and the police were sent looking for her.
“She was located at 5.30am with minor leg injuries and went onto provide
an alcohol breath sample of over double the legal limit.
“She will be interviewed then sent to court.”
