South Yorkshire Police Are Recruiting

We’re expanding our team of Armed Response Vehicle Officers as we
continue our journey to becoming an outstanding force.

We’re seeking already qualified armed police officers who are looking
for a new challenge, policing in a diverse and ever changing part of the
UK that serves a population of over 1 million.

Last year, our Firearms Support Group (FSG) undertook 700-armed
deployments across South Yorkshire, providing initial response and
pre-planned support to incidents and investigations across the county.

We are a specialised firearms unit and do not undertake a ‘dual-role’
function. Between armed deployments, our officers assist with Force
priorities, predominantly the targeting of armed criminality.

Subject to a fair and transparent process, there may also be future
opportunities to progress your career in various specialisms: including
MAStS, Close Protection, Tactical Rifle Officer, OFC, Tactical Advisors
& Firearms Instructor.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and hard-working individuals
to join our team as we move towards the inception of a standalone MAStS
team from April 2021, where in return, we can offer you the opportunity
to use and develop the skills you have been trained in.

In addition, we offer a variety of support initiatives to improve
work/life balance. These include a positive health & wellbeing policy,
reward leave and dependants’ leave for those unexpected moments in life.

So, if you are

Passionate and dedicated to serving your community
