A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to six and half years in prison for
burglary offences across Sheffield.
Liam Taffinder, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown
Court on Friday 1 March, after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary
and two counts of fraud.
Taffinder was subject to a licence period until 2020, after being
released from prison. The licencing conditions meant that he had to
reside at Rookwood Bail Hostel, Rotherham which he failed to do so.
Taffinder further offended on Saturday 24 November, when he broke into a
property in Shirecliffe, stealing over a £1000 worth of personal goods
and money.
He struck again on Tuesday 18 December when he targeted a property in
Parson Cross, stealing a credit card, which he used three times at local
convenience stores.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Trish Sidaway said: “Taffinder
is a prolific burglar and has no regard for the people he targets. He
does not consider the upset and disruption he brings into people’s
lives. He has received a substantive sentence and I am pleased that he
is no longer a threat to the public”.
