CARDIFF MAN’S WIFE DONE TO DEATH – Head Split Open with a Hatchet
Article of 19th May 1904
The murder of Jane Hurst, a Rotherham woman, was briefly reported in our
yester- day’s editions, and it was also stated that John Thomas Kay, a
man with whom she had been living, had given himself up on the charge of
causing her death. It was found that she had been attacked with a
hatchet, and that her head was split open.
