Police are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary
where a firearm was used at an address in the Westfield Crescent,
Mosborough area of Sheffield.

Shortly before 7pm yesterday (Wednesday 31 October) the occupant of an
address on Westfield Crescent, Mosborough, Sheffield, was subject to an
aggravated burglary.

It is believed that three offenders entered the address by firing the
weapon into the glass porch door. Once inside, the occupant confronted
them before leaving the address.

Officers believe the offenders left the scene in a blue Alfa Romeo Mito,
which was later found abandoned on Westfield Southway near to the
junction with Moss Way.

Police are particularly interested to hear from anyone who may have seen
anything suspicious in the Westfield Crescent area around the time of
the offence or saw the described vehicle prior to it being found
abandoned shortly after 7pm.

DI Scott Harrison leading the investigation said, “I’m aware many people
were in the area at the time and request them to come forward if they
have any information that may help identify these offenders.

“Fortunately offences like this are rare and luckily the victim was not
injured but we need to know who these people are and I’m hoping the
community can help.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 755
of the 31 October 2018.
